Patient Testing Instructions

The location for all non-invasive cardiology testing is Conway Regional Medical Center. Enter the Medical Center through the main admission area in the East Lobby, which is located on the same side as the Emergency Department.

Non-Invasive Cardiology Examinations:

Choose the procedure below to see a specific set of instructions. Check with your physician to confirm your examination location.

You will need to wear comfortable shoes and clothes to the hospital.

Do not eat or drink anything after midnight. If your doctor tells you to take your medicine before the test, do so only with a small sip of water.

Please plan to be at the hospital for 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Upon arrival, a staff member will begin an IV.

You will not be able to shower or bathe for 24 hours after the testing begins, so may want to shower or bathe before testing.

Please plan on being in the Medical Center for 15-30 minutes for registration, instructions, and placement of the Holter monitor.

You will need to wash your hair the night before. Do not use any conditioners, oils, mousse, hair spray, etc. It is very important that you get only four hours of sleep before the test. Please stay awake until midnight and get up at 4:00 am.

Please eat before the test. Do not have any caffeine (i.e. coffee, colas, tea, chocolate, etc.). The doctor may give you medicine to make you sleep after you arrive at the hospital.

Please bring a list of medicines that you are taking with you.

The test requires approximately 45 minutes to an hour to complete.
